Stanford Expanding in Redwood City

The Redwood City Campus will be located on the site of the former Mid-Point Technology Park across from the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center off Highway 101. The campus will be developed in phases over time based on the ongoing needs of the university. The first phase is targeted to be completed by early 2019.

The project will significantly increase the site’s landscape areas and will establish a substantial central greenway for pedestrians. A publicly accessible 2.4 acre open-space area will also be developed near Spinas Park.

Significant intersection improvements within and near the project area will be made to address increased traffic. Barron, Warrington and Hurlingame avenues will be extended through the site, creating better pedestrian and vehicular traffic circulation.  Shuttles to the downtown Redwood City Caltrain station and other transportation alternatives will be provided to reduce single-occupancy car trips.

Demolition of the site is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2016 and construction will continue until the projected completion in 2019.
